Making the Old New

I love Friday posts. At random intervals throughout the weekend I love dropping in on blogs to see how folks wrap up their weeks.

Here’s how I’ll wrap up ours with things I haven’t already mentioned.
We spent a lot of time in the house which was relaxing even though I’ve had a cough & sore throat for all of it. Drew being stuck here made my life so much easier & the girls love the entertainment only a da-da can provide.
We made another craft this morning–wild bird feeders out of pinecones, peanut butter, sunflower seeds & grapefruit rinds.

Also, on Tuesday my sister & I visited a new thrift store near-by. It’s always exciting to find new old stuff. 😉 They had soooo many things from my childhood, it was like my mother had just emptied the attic of things I know she emptied years ago. Memory, a Lite Brite, Girl Talk the game, a peddle-less riding toy… I didn’t buy it all, but here’s what I left with:
greensboro thrift store
vintage block prints: made by Gwen Frostic
Gymboree Summer Jumper
Gravy Skimmer
Wicker Basket with leather latch–love this, what should it hold?
The original Memory–we’ve already played twice & these images are embedded in my own memory from when I originally played.
Embroidery hoops–one can never have too many 😉
A string art kit–make or sell?
Felt characters–perfect addition to our felt board set.
not pictured are loads of great kids clothes & an electrolux electric broom that i had to order the charger for…i’d been wanting one, hopefully this will work!
Oh, and my dear husband is in the local Business Journal today! Pictured & quoted! It’s not the most uplifting article, but I’m so proud of him. Who’d have ever thought we’d be business owners…

Don't you just love great thrift store finds?! I love how some days I'll go in and find absolutely nothing, and another find arm loads.

My kids enjoyed making those birdie treats too. Isn't today's weather yucky? I much prefer just snow to snow-then-rain mess. Bleck.

I recently blogged about our thrift store finds… it is so nice to find save such treasures from the landfills, etc.. and add the beauty to our homes.
Thanks for sharing and congratulations to your husband.
    Warm wishes,
    Tonya
